Ghent Compass / Information & transparency

Editorial policy

Independence and usefulness come before advertising. Our articles should help readers decide, not merely collect clicks.

How we research

We favour primary sources such as museums, transport operators, municipal services and official tourism offices. For volatile information (prices, hours, access, exhibitions), check the linked provider before travelling. We make corrections when we learn that a fact has changed.

Choosing what to recommend

Places are selected for their relevance to visitors, history, quality, location and practical usefulness. Not every reader needs the same hotel, restaurant or museum. Editorial inclusion is not for sale.

Dates and translations

Guides can appear in English, Spanish, French, Dutch and German. We adapt them for their audience, rather than pretending that every language always has exactly the same inventory. A date on an article is a revision date, not a guarantee that every opening hour remains unchanged.

Corrections and commercial links

We welcome factual corrections at info@ghentcompass.com. Some links or codes may be commercial partnerships; those are identified where they appear and explained in our affiliate disclosure.
